  • We have all the fun in EYFS

    We have had such a busy, exciting week this week. On Tuesday, as part of our ‘Growing’ theme, Robert’s mum brought her baby into school. We were all very interested and asked a lot of questions about babies and how they grow. Robert was very proud! On Wednesday we all made Union Jack flags for the Queen’s Jubilee. We looked at some pictures of the Queen when she was a little girl and at her coronation. On Thursday Mrs Price brought in some guinea pigs for RE. We talked about what needs to be done to look after them properly. 

  • Position and direction in Maple class

    At the beginning of the week Maple class were finding it difficult to find left and right and clockwise and anti-clockwise so we got the bee bots out to help us. We programmed them to travel to certain areas of the classroom and this helped us to understand which way was left and right. We had lots of fun! 

  • Maths Position and Direction -Elm Class

    The Bee Bots were out in force today as we learned all about Position and Direction. It was great to see everyone having fun whilst learning and we were all very excited to play with them.  We had to follow a set of instructions to make our Bee Bots move .

  • Super circuits in Snowdon

    We have had a really interesting Science session. We carried out investigations to find out which materials were insulators and which  materials were conductors.The class worked in small groups really well.

  • Geography Finding Continents - Year 2 Elm

    Oh what fun we had in Elm Class today when we all tried to find the continents and oceans .  Everyone really enjoyed trying to add post-it notes onto the blow up globes ! We discovered that the UK was in Europe and we found Antarctica quickly from our English Lessons too.
     

  • Year 4 - Networking - The difference between the Internet and the World Wide Web

    To finish the topic networking, the children in Year 4 were given the roles of newspaper reporters, reporting on ‘The difference between the Internet and the World Wide Web.’

    The children used green screen technology to create a newsroom background and the ‘presenter mode’ on the ‘Pages’ app to create a teleprompter.
     

  • Y3 Pendle Digital Art

    To start our digital art project based on Georgia O’Keefe, Pendle class went on a flower hunt around school. Once back in class, they used their photos to zoom in and crop them so they were in the same style as O’Keefe. 

  • Year 3 Pendle Networks lesson

    Year 3 have been learning about Local Area Networks in Computing this half term. To show what they know, they created a human LAN and carried out various jobs such as saving work on the server, using the internet and printing. 

  • Mayan Experience in K2

    Year 6 enjoyed a day learning all about the Ancient Maya civilisation. They were able to handle artefacts, they learned all about the key events of the civilisation and some children were even given the honour of being a Mayan king or queen for the day! 

  • Baking Bread in K2 Class

    Wed 18 May 2022 Miss Burns

    Before half term, K2 class channelled their inner Paul Hollywood to work in groups and bake some delicious bread rolls!  The children found and adapted the recipes, based on how they wanted their bread to taste. They then provided their own ingredients and made the bread completely independently. All of the bread looked delicious and got rave reviews!
