  • Olympus World Book Day and Young Un’s workshop

    Fantastic vocabulary and costume interpretations from Olympus on World Book Day! We also enjoyed grouping our words, linking words to characters in books then linking those books to make a vocabulary parade (see our window to see what we came up with!).

    Years 3 and 5 also had a workshop with the Young Un’s to create a song for Chorley - we had great fun with the get up and move activities!

  • Mont Blanc - World Book Day 2023

    Today we held the group stages of the Book World Cup.  We have listen to the first five minutes of 16 fantastic books.  Two from each stage have made it through the to semi finals.  Once we find our winner - our next class novel will be chosen!

  • World Book Day in Oak

    The children loved dressing up as a word for World Book Day. We read the book ‘Story Soup’ which inspired the children to create their own stories. They also enjoyed sharing books with their ‘buddies’ in year 6.

    Cedar class thoroughly enjoyed dressing up to represent a word as part of our vocabulary themed, ‘World Book Day’. There were some adventurous outfits and interesting words. 

  • World Book Day in Pendle

    Pendle Class have really enjoyed World Book Day this year. They each came dressed as a word and their costumes were fantastic. In class they enjoyed using a choices grid to create their own story with some very interesting and funny results!

    We had a lot of fun celebrating World Book day with our Vocabulary theme! Our children had lots of fun words to choose and our teachers came as the synonyms Perplexed and Baffled.

  • Mont Blanc - DT sewing day

    Mont Blanc enjoyed a whole day of sewing on Tuesday. They practiced appliqué, embroidery and cutting out a pattern.

  • Pendle Class reading play scripts

    Today Pendle Class got to read different play scripts as part of our new English unit. They really enjoyed getting into character and delivering their lines with plenty of expression! 

  • Pancake Day in reception

    Reception had a wonderful time cooking and tasting pancakes with Mrs Higson. We talked about the ingredients, the utensils we would need and wrote down the instructions together of how to make them. The favourite topping of the day was chocolate.

  • Chinese New Year

    We loved learning all about the festival Lunar New Year. The children made lanterns, listened and acted the story ‘The Great Race’ and to finish our week off, we had our own dragon parade with music and instruments.
