Autumn walk
Tue 12 Oct 2021The children enjoyed an Autumn walk through the woods today. We read a non-fiction book about Autumn to find out what to look for and had a brilliant discussion about the changing of seasons. The children found leaves that were changing colour, berries on the trees, acorns and collected them in their buckets and took photos with the iPads. Some children collected sticks and wanted to compare the length as we have been looking at the language longest and shortest in maths.

Rivington’s European Day of Languages
Fri 08 Oct 2021Hej fra Årgang Tre Rivington Klasse - Hello from Year Three Rivington Class! 🇩🇰
We had a strålende day learning all about Denmark! We researched the 5 biggest cities in Denmark, learned about Hans Christian Andersen and his stories and tried out hand at some Danish phrases too.
In the afternoon, we got into the Danish spirit of Hygge , the art of cosiness! With blankets, candles, hot chocolate and biscuits, we thought about how to spend our perfect Hygge day with those we love.
Farvel for nu! 🇩🇰

Year 2 Maple - European Languages Day
Fri 08 Oct 2021Maple class have had an exciting day for European languages day. We started off with a visit from Mrs Hall who taught us how to say Hi, goodbye and my name is. We created our own Italian flags and looked at different parts of the country. We created a fact file and learnt lots of interesting facts about Italy and ended by making our own leaning tower of Pisa - the children found it tricky working out how to make their tower lean!
Such a fun day had by everyone in Maple! -
Y2 Elm Class Music
Fri 08 Oct 2021This week we were fantastic at using the untuned percussion to find a pulse (the heartbeat of the song). We were really focussed and loved using the instruments to help.
We then created our own rhythm patterns using our own class created sentences . It was great fun!
