  • World book Day in Cedar class

    Thu 03 Mar 2022 Mrs.Hacking

Cedar Class have thoroughly enjoyed World Book Day.
The class had fun painting, collaging and printing our classroom door based on the ‘Gruffalo’. This morning, we went on a ‘Gruffalo’ walk in the woods hunting for the characters in the story and then we made homes for them using twigs, leaves and grass.

After break, we designed our own imaginary character and wrote sentences about them.
In the afternoon, we drew our own ‘Gruffalo’ using the scratch Junior App on the IPads  and then we animated them. Finally, we made ‘Gruffalo’ crumble and really enjoyed eating them!

    what a wonderful day!

    Thu 03 Mar 2022

Olympus thoroughly enjoyed activities related to The Explorer by Katherine Rundell. These included finding links to other books, composing a rainforest soundtrack on GarageBand, creating a dance in a group to a jungle music backdrop (Mrs Hacking was super impressed with their dance skills and teamwork!) and using the story to draw a map showing the key elements and places. The classroom door is also looking rather impressive!

We had picnic snacks and shared books with each other.
