Wed 09 Mar 2022The children in Ben Nevis have been working extremely hard, over the past few weeks creating their very own river projects.
It was clear that every child had spent numerous hours creating their projects and I am extremely proud of their efforts. All the visitors to our class were totally blown away by the children’s knowledge of rivers and their creations.
Freddie decided to create his own film documenting the journey of a river.

Thu 03 Mar 2022We had a wonderful treat today in Year 2 when PC Scott came to visit us. He told us all about the police being helpful. He also told us that the equipment he wears is not scary, it just protects the police officer from getting hurt or injured.
Unfortunately Mrs Roocroft was arrested during the lesson and put in handcuffs. This made us all laugh because we know Mrs Roocroft is lovely !
We loved trying on his equipment, especially the riot helmet which was very heavy indeed !

World Book Day in Ash Class
Thu 03 Mar 2022What a wonderful day we have had in Ash Class celebrating World Book Day!
We began the day by reading our book ‘The Tiger Who Came to Tea.’
The children listened carefully, discussed the story, and recalled key information to sequence events in the correct order by retelling the story to a partner.
We then watched a video about tigers and learnt lots of new and exciting vocabulary.
Also, during the morning we wrote food lists and sentences about what food we would feed the Tiger for tea if he visited our own houses!
We even created tigers made from our own handprints. It was lots of fun!
In the afternoon, we added detail to our handprints remembering from earlier in the day that tigers only have vertical stripes. Later in the afternoon we made masks, tiger cups and finally, finished our amazing day enjoying afternoon tea together while listening to stories shared by the authors on the World Book Day Website.
