Year 6 have had the pleasure of having sessions delivered by Gareth Walker at Literacy Kicks for the past few weeks. The children have all been so engaged in their sessions and have produced some fantastic work. Thank you Literacy Kicks!

Ash Class had a lovely afternoon on taking part in our Geography field work orienteering activity around the school grounds.  As a class, we followed clues using a compass and an aerial picture of the school grounds to discover the hidden word.

Tue 14 Jun 2022 Mrs Goodyear

Last Friday, year 6 were treated to a special maths/ football session from Matt Walsh at The Football Development Programme. After spending some time looking at finances in football, the children had the opportunity to develop their own team using real player valuations. This was certainly a topical task and led to some interesting choices and also calculations! The children then had the opportunity to develop their football skills with Matt on the field. It was an excellent session and Everest had a fantastic time.

  • Islam Zoom

Mon 13 Jun 2022 Miss Blackwell

Reception thoroughly enjoyed listening to Rahena talk about her religion Islam. She told us all about her special book, her prayer mat, what clothes she wears and what body parts she has to clean before praying. She also showed us some lovely pictures of mosques and the children asked her some fantastic questions to find out more!

  • It’s a Mystery!

    Mon 13 Jun 2022

What an amazing start to the week in Ash Class.

We began our morning learning to count money and recognising that different coins can be used to make the same value.  Then we had a wonderful assembly delivered by Rehana Ali who taught us lots of new facts about the Islamic faith.

Finally, in English Ash Class went on an adventure into the woods because we had been told that something had been found and we needed to investigate.  Everyone, very quietly tiptoed through the meadow and there, to our amazement, was an egg.  As a class we then discussed who, what, how, when, where and why this egg has ended up in our woods and wrote some wonderful questions using our ‘question hand’ to support us.  It was a great start to our Fantasy topic in English and the children are so excited to see what happens next.
