  • World War II Chronology in Snowdon Class

Tue 10 May 2022 Mrs Bullock

We had a really great history session today, the children in Snowdon class began by thinking what ‘chronology’ and ‘key events’ meant to them. They created a timeline of their lives adding on important events and dates.  They then went on to learn about key events in WWII. We took our learning into the hall where event cards were first sorted into year groups, then into month order. Finally, the cards were placed on a time line. Good team work folks!

  • Art -Andy Goldsworthy Elm Class

    Mon 09 May 2022 C Pearson

We had amazing fun today when we explored the work of Andy Goldsworthy. We looked at using a range of natural materials and worked with our friendship groups to create our own.

The forest school area was a great place to find materials for our art.

Our mums and dads loved looking at our work at home time too!

Our text this term is Jack and the Beanstalk. The children were so excited to see that a  beanstalk had been to school in the holidays but all that was left were some magic beans. The children wanted to plant their own beans and were able to write some instructions of how to do it.

  • Year 6 Chess Club

Tue 03 May 2022 Miss Burns

Earlier in the year, some of our Year 6 pupils asked if they could run a chess club at lunchtimes.  This has proven extremely popular with lots of members requesting to join.  Many of the children have even taught themselves how to play chess at home, completely independently.  They are even giving some of the teachers a run for their money!

  • Olympus litter pick

    Sun 03 Apr 2022

On the last day of term, Olympus went on a litter pick of the local area. In addition, we retrieved many balls that had ended up on Primrose Hill Farm’s fields! The children were amazing and collected a huge amount of rubbish, becoming quite competitive. Hopefully this will have a lasting impact on them and encourage everyone to be more mindful of the environment. Many thanks to Euxton Parish council for their loan of litter pickers, gloves, hi-vis jackets and bin bags
