Y5 Salmesbury Hall trip
Wed 19 Oct 2022Today year 5 visited Samlesbury Hall today as part of their history topic on the Tudors. The children learn a lot both on their tour and on their independent exploration of the hall and grounds. Lots of photos led to some excellent keynote presentations.

Y5 Science - forces
Sun 16 Oct 2022Year 5 have been learning about forces over the last few weeks: considering upthrust when building a boat/raft and investigating the effect of pulleys and levers.

Visitor- Reverend Gordon
Tue 11 Oct 2022Reverend Gordon visited Reception this afternoon to help us celebrate Harvest. He talked about saying thank you for our food and the people who help us.

Environmental Poetry
Tue 11 Oct 2022Snowdon class really enjoyed taking part in a live lesson on National Poetry Day. They really enjoyed creating poems, they tried to include different poetic devices such as alliteration, similes, personification and metaphors.

Using Keynote
Tue 11 Oct 2022Snowdon class were lucky enough to work with Ian Wilson, an Apple distinguished educator last week. He showed the class how keynote could be used to create an app! The children very quickly took on board his ideas and made some great educational apps all about Saxons. They learnt how to link pages, incorporate animations and create backgrounds.

Y3 Pendle National Poetry Day
Thu 06 Oct 2022Pendle Class practised using iMovie to turn a poem all about a song bird into movie for National Poetry Day. They found pictures to match lines in the poems and then recorded themselves reading the poem over the top.

National Poetry Day in Year 6 K2
Thu 06 Oct 2022To mark National Poetry Day, Year 6 decided to take inspiration from nature. After going for a nature walk, we used the different things we saw to create some absolutely wonderful poems.

Muddy Monday
Mon 03 Oct 2022We enjoyed our first ‘Muddy Monday’ in our woods. The children were very excited to explore the school grounds and had great fun applying their classroom learning outside. We collected and counted natural materials, found lots of mini beasts and talked about their habitats. We also spotted signs of Autumn and some of us re-enacted our favourite stories from class.

Y5 Olympus - internal sports competition
Mon 03 Oct 2022This morning, Olympus excelled in jumping, throwing, running and speed bounce during their session in the hall for the internal sports competition. They certainly gave it their all!
