  • PSHE tying shoelaces in Elm Class

Fri 04 Dec 2020 Miss Pearson

In PSHE we have been learning to stay safe and one of the things we realised is that when we wear our trainers for PE we could be unsafe if our laces were untied.

So we all had a practise at school and tried to use the bunny ears method to tie our laces!

We have promised to keep practising at home .

    Practise makes perfect.

  • Science - heating and cooling in Elm Class

Fri 04 Dec 2020 Miss Pearson

We had amazing fun in Elm Class on Thursday when we looked at how materials heat and how we cool them.  We were all given a chocolate button wrapped in tin foil and used the heat of our hands to melt the chocolate. It was great fun.  We then put some of the chocolate buttons back into the freezer and realised that we could make the chocolate button freezer back into the same shape. Some of us understood the term reversible change.

We then moved onto using bicarbonate of soda and vinegar to see what happened ! The squeals of delight could be heard across school as the mixture became foamy and fizzy !

A great science lesson with Mrs Callander!

  • Raft making results in Cedar class

    Tue 01 Dec 2020 Mrs.Hacking

This morning we tested our rafts to see if they would float. We also wanted the Lego person to stay dry.

All our rafts were fabulous but we had some mixed results. We discussed together how each raft could be improved and everyone had very clear ideas about how this could be achieved. Well done Cedar class.
