    This afternoon the children painted a colour wheel. They identified the primary colours and then used these to colour mix their secondary colours. What a bunch of superstars 🤩

    What a fun morning we had in Forest school this morning with Mrs.Jotejko,  making quesadillas and cooking them on the bbq.  🧀 🥪 😊 

  • Pendle Class DT ice lolly project

    Pendle Class were tasked with designing and making a healthy ice lolly and the packaging to go with it. They analysed existing packaging to help them design their own. They decided on their fruit combination so they could choose a name and then had fun making! They made their own packaging by drawing a net first. Then they blended up the fruit and fruit juices to make the ice lolly. The finished results were amazing and very tasty!

    Yesterday, on the hottest day of the year, we were so lucky to be able to cool off with a delicious ice cream courtesy of our wonderful PTFA. It was a very welcome treat in the high temperatures and we all really enjoyed it. 

  • Y5 Olympus - first aid

    This week Olympus have been learning how to save a life using DRSABC (Danger, Respond, Shout, Airway, Breathing, Circulation), recovery position and CPR. Hopefully they will never have to use these skills but they are well prepared if they do.

  • Pendle Class- Making 3D shapes

    In maths, Pendle Class have been learning all about shapes. Children were given cocktail sticks and playdoh and made a variety of 3D shapes, they used super vocabulary to describe the properties of the shapes, including the number of vertices and edges. 

  • Pendle Class- Natural maps in geography

    Pendle Class have really enjoyed reading The River, written by Hanako Clulow. We used our geography fieldwork skills to create maps using natural materials, to retell the journey in the story. 

  • Pendle Class - Learning about the digestive system

    Today we used augmented reality to learn about the different organs that make up the digestive system. The children used special t-shirts to see inside the human body and learn about how each organ helps with digestion. 

  • Maple class DT

    In DT Maple class have designed and made winding toys for Reception. We have based these on well known nursery rhymes. First we created our background on the app sketches school. Then we created our character and attached it to our dowel so that we could wind it up and down our picture. Have a look and see if you can work out which nursery rhymes we have used!
